Moon Dolls
Pencil Sketches
Part of the Spooky series and involved with the dark arts, but concentrating on "goth chicks" and Tattoos as the main theme to this series. Matte has subsequently tattooed himself with some of their tattoo designs. 5 pointed star and the crescent moon ... see if you can find them and named his latest drum hit "hexed" after one of the tattoos. Matte created these with charcoal as to get the blacks blacker. These dolls start to tap into some of his alters, Shadow girl, Vampire man and Katrina

A vampire moon doll known as “Gabby” emerges within the suffocating darkness of the catacombs, engulfing a fallen priest in flames as sacred iconography collapses into horror. The work confronts the inversion of good and evil, exposing the corruption that can hide beneath sanctified authority and questioning who the true monster is when innocence is betrayed. Rendered in visceral Graphite, the piece channels themes of vengeance, moral decay, and psychological reckoning. For Matte, Gabby is more than a figure—she is an avatar of protective fury, shadow justice, and the monstrous form trauma gives to survival.
